On the Brink of a Lovely Song celebrated the lyrics of Ira Gershwin, Lorenz Hart, E. Y. Harburg, Oscar Hammerstein II, and Andy Razaf. The piece weaves together the stories of writers and artists from the early twenties and thirties in Manhattan.
